The Supreme Court nominee… Sonia Sotomayor.  Given some of the comments she’s made in her career, I would say that she is unfamiliar with this image:

The courts are not the place to make policy.  The Supreme Court is the place to decide whether or not a policy, created in the Legislative Branch and approved by the Executive Branch, meets the intent of the Constitution.  By making policy, the Supreme Court is circumventing the Constitutional powers it has been granted, and more importantly, denied.

This is not cool with me…

I don’t care whether its left, right, middle, purple or green.  The Supreme Court is there to judge, not legislate.  Sonia Sotomayor feels differently.

Ms. Sotomayor has some other interesting tidbits, let’s tell a story…

Suppose a company has a written exam that is used to judge whether or not applicants are qualified for a new position.  Suppose also, demographic information is requested on the test.  Now, the test has been given and there are several passing grades, however:

Only women passed the exam, so the company decides to throw the exam out and not promote anyone because it wants to promote men.  Is this sexism?

Or, only african americans passed the exam so the company decides to throw the exam out and not promote anyone because it wants to promote whites.  Is this racism?

Or, only employees over 60 years old passed the exam, so the company decides to throw the exam out and not promote anyone because it wants youthful energy.  Is this age discrimination?

Or, only white men passed the exam so the company decides to throw the exam out and not promote anyone. Is this racism?

Judge Sotomayor doesn’t think so and her ruling on the case reinforced it.

I hate the term “reverse racism.”   Racism just is…

racism [rey-siz-uhm] a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to rule others

Another story…

Suppose a CEO told his shareholders, “we believe that our new CFO should be an educated white male because his experiences and perspective will produce better decision making.”

Would this CEO be excoriated for his racist remarks?  You’re damn right…

OK…so, how ’bout this…

[A] wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.

Racism?  Yup…courtesy of the newest Supreme Court nominee.

The Supreme Court is not a place for radical activism.  Unfortunately, our Big O thinks it is and has talked about it openly.  A radical left President and a radical left Congress, fire fueled by a radical leftist on the Court.

This country will never be the same…I wonder if this is the Change all those so called moderates were voting for?
