Because my oh so intelligent and caring Senators Udall and Bennett voted to bring the health care bill to the floor… I have asked for their resignation.
Senator,
Your support of the health care travesty that will lead to this country’s undoing is offensive and should be considered gross misconduct. Your actions are a slap in the face of your constituents and their wishes.
You have failed to uphold your oath to protect the United States Constitution.
As your employer, I am asking for your immediate resignation.
I will send this message to their offices repeatedly until this destruction of liberty is defeated or November 2, 2010.
Again, Mr. President?
Seriously, I realize you’re trying to show that you understand culture and protocol. However, you are now the PRESIDENT of the United States. You are not inferior (specifically to head of state status only) to anyone on the planet.
I said it before… Knock it off!!
Seriously…a jobs summit? Wait…the $787 billion dollar stimulus package that needed to be enacted RIGHT NOW!!! isn’t working? Wow, I wonder if anyone could have seen that coming?
The White House is going to hold a jobs summit to discuss the 10.2% and rising unemployment rate. As if this is going to solve anything. It’s purely for show…
Look, let me be clear, we’re trying to help the American people….the economy is very complicated and we’ll listen to all ideas…Republican and Democrat. In the meantime, we’ve extended unemployment benefits and the House has passed a comprehensive health care bill, so that no one goes without coverage.
Dear Leader… I can solve your economy problem really quickly….get government the hell out of the way.
Businesses are paralyzed right now. They don’t know how the cap and trade fiasco or the health care reform disaster is going to affect them. Loans are difficult to get and businesses, as well as consumers, are hoarding cash. Anyone with a small business is dreading the potential taxes that are headed this way. Business and the financial markets want certainty…there is none.
So, I’m curious.
Is this administration inept and incompetent? This ain’t community organizing…
Or, are is this a purposeful destruction of capitalism in the effort to push a far left agenda? Dear Leader is a big fan of “economic justice”…
November 11 is designated as Veteran’s day in America. It also marks the anniversary of the surrender of the Germany in 1918, effectively ending World War I. Most folks seem to carry about their business, not doing anything special. Unless, they have been directly connected to someone who has served their country.

I love these colors...
I have been fortunate enough to be in the presence of a great American man…to sit and talk with him…to hear his perspective of the world, our nation, business, and family. I heard some of the stories of World War II and knew that those experiences affected him for the rest his life. But, for him, it wasn’t regret or fear or anger, it was gratitude. Thankful for being spared on D-Day and being able to come home to his family. Grateful for the opportunities one can find in this country and the ability to work hard. His gratitude seemed to be one of his fundamental motivators and guiding principles in life.
Throughout much of my life, I could never fully grasp what it meant to the men and women who served…protecting freedom and this country. I could never imagine myself feeling that level of pride and patriotism. These struggles were all in my history books, the world was different now. The world wars had distinct enemies and tyrants, as did other battles throughout American history.
The two American wars that shaped this country more than any others, the Civil War and Revolutionary War, were not so much against an enemy. Rather, they were fought for an ideology. This requires a level of patriotism and commitment that far exceeds that of fighting a tyrant. Fighting these wars was not about now…. it was about tomorrow.
This country is undergoing a change. No, not the change a lot of folks thought they were getting. Its the kind of change many people feared would come. I believe our way of life, our society, our very foundation, is being tested in a way that had yet to be seen. Unfortunately, I also believe it will continue to be tested further. Our freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is threatened by some who do not agree with how this country was founded and built.
I have always loved my country, but for the first time in my life, I understand.
I understand the feeling that wells up inside you that drives to you to stand up and speak out, even to lash out in total frustration. I understand the need to do something….anything… to protect this country and what it stands for from those who are too cowardly to stand up and speak for their beliefs outright. I’m still unsure as to what I can do to help fight the ideological battle that’s being waged right now. But, I know that by simply knowing, by paying attention, I am on my way to something. This is how its starts. I do know this however, that if it comes down to it, I know full well which side of the line I’ll be on in order to protect it. After all, there is something bigger and far more important than me to protect. I understand that if they succeed, we have failed, and all of us are lost. But more importantly, the future is lost.
With this recognition, I am feeling patriotism and commitment to a level I haven’t felt before. I now understand what drove the men and women of the past to lay their lives on the line to protect our freedoms.
So….on this Veteran’s Day, I say thank you to all the men and women who have sacrificed, sometimes with their lives, to protect what we all are so fortunate to have. I just hope we live up your distinction.
I remember the night of November 9, 1989 pretty clearly. Maybe not the minor details of the afternoon and evening…but I remember where I was and most importantly, how I felt.
I grew up learning about the tyranny of Communism and Socialism in sharp contrast to Capitalism. We learned that a Capitalist society allowed individuals the freedom to work and succeed to the level that they desired. You want more money, you work harder. Anyone could be a millionaire, a billionaire, President! All you had to do was decide to work for it and earn it.
I often wondered growing up, what was it like to live in another country, especially under tyrannic rule? I also found myself questioning, why was I so fortunate to live in such a great country? I did my best to empathize with those on the other side of the wall.
I remember how excited I was in 1980 when the US hockey team beat the Soviets. I remember the maps in school that showed a massive red land mass with letters strewn across, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. I remember learning how countries and cultures were overrun by the Soviet Empire and absorbed against their will. I remember the pictures of the Berlin Wall, the symbol of Soviet rule and Communism.

a symbol of tyranny
I understood that Socialism and Communism were wrong. Why else would you need fences, walls, barbed wire, and armed guards, not to keep people out, but to keep people in?
When the Berlin Wall fell, I was overcome with emotion. I never dreamed that the big, bad Soviet Union will come crashing down. Here I was, watching it on television! It was coming down! Freedom is spreading throughout the world! I recall seeing the elation of the citizens on both sides of the wall.
I recall seeing the East Germans pouring through the gates and openings in the wall. Why? Because they could finally escape massive government and relentless tyranny. They were escaping Socialism.

an hand up for freedom
We stand at a crossroads in the United States. We are being led down a road to Socialism by a lunatic Speaker and an angry man in White House. Except, the politicians in this country call it “Social Justice” or “Economic Justice.” They want to “fundamentally transform” the United States.
Barrack Obama turned down an invitation to attend the anniversary celebration by the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel….and Dear Leader said he’s too busy.
Too busy to celebrate the freedom of tens of millions of people? Too busy to celebrate to falling of a wall where hundreds, if not thousands, of people died trying to escape tyranny?
Maybe, if Dear Leader wasn’t flying around to pick up a worthless joke of a Nobel prize or to make a failed sales pitch for the Olympics, he could have gotten a little more done. That way, he could have freed up his schedule to mark this moment in history. Hell, he could have sent the Mrs. or even jabberin’ Joe. Nope….nada.
But then, celebrating freedom… well, that would then fly in the face of everything Barack Obama stands for.
* - “all” typically means everything, everyone, no one left out, 100%.
Except, when you’re a Democrat, the term “all” means almost everything or everyone. The political equivalent of horseshoes and hand grenades. To quote Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) from his speech last night in the health care “debate”
“It provides coverage for 96 percent of Americans. It offers everyone, regardless of health or income, the peace of mind that comes from knowing they will have access to affordable health care when they need it.”
PelosiCare will cover 96% of Americans…but offers everyone care. I’m sorry, wait, which is it? Everyone…or almost everyone? 96%? What about the other 4%? In case you’re curious, 4% of the American population (roughly 305 million) is a little more than 12 million people. Let me repeat that to make sure the number sticks in your head…
Per the Democrats, 12 million Americans will STILL be WITHOUT coverage despite a huge explosion of government bureaucracy and over $1.2 trillion (or more) in spending.
“H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.”
“If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…”
“Criminal penalties
Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:
• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.”
What, exactly, is “acceptable health insurance” and who defines it? These people have lost their minds.

The Denver TasteCasting group visited Great Northern restaurant on Tuesday and enjoyed some great food from Chef Damon Keith and his team. Great Northern is at 8101 East Belleview Ave (at Ulster) in the Denver Tech Center.
From the Great Northern website:
Established in 1998, the Great Northern, located in the heart of the Denver Tech Center, echos the journey of the Great Northern Railroad across the upper United States. Our menu reflects the traditional cuisine of these regions through interpretations of beloved trans-continental meals. An excellent wine list not only accompanies, but also accentuates, our menu.
Our knowledgeable and truly friendly staff, provide the classic service that is the hallmark of an exceptional dining experience. The mahogany trimmed overstuffed booths harkens back to the days of glamorous travel by rail. Enjoy the ambiance of a restaurant that recalls travels in both style and comfort.
The atmosphere was very pleasant, even with the restaurant as busy as it was. We were able to carry on conversations from one end of the 10 person table to the other. General manager Philip Cahil and his staff took good care of us.
We started with appetizers, calamari, chicken tortilla soup, spinach artichoke dip, and a sashimi dish made on the fly by the chef. All three were very good, but my favorite was the tortilla soup. The flavor was perfect and the spice kicked in on the back end, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
For an entree, I had the Bacon Bleu Cheese Burger: “Certified Angus burger basted with a tangy peppercorn sauce - topped with gorgonzola crumbles, GN’s famous three-pepper bacon, fried onion strings.” For a side, I had both the tavern chips and the steak fires. The burger was, of course, cooked to order and was delicious. The meat was juicy and the peppercorn sauce, combined with the three pepper bacon gave it a great zesty flavor. The bleu cheese added a rustic flair to the overall taste of the burger. I went without condiments on the burger…tasted great just as it was.
Bacon rating:

3 out of 5
Have you noticed how the Dems like to spout off about urgency in everything they’re trying to do?
The “stimulus” bill had to be done right now!! People are losing jobs!! This is an absolute crisis!! We’re teetering on the edge of economic ruin!! There’s no time to read the bill, just shut up and vote!! OMFG!!
Of course, the bill was passed on a Friday and Dear Leader went back to Chicago for some basketball with his buddies. Then, he finally made his way to Denver to sign the monstrosity on Tuesday afternoon. This is ridiculous in and of itself…. But, what about the spending? The actual stimulus part? Oh yeah, that really doesn’t kick in until 2010…yup, a full year or more after the bill was signed.
Nearly 2.5 million more people have lost their jobs since the bill’s signing and the stimulus has only stimulated debt…
How about that housing relief Obama announced back in March? Remember? Maybe not, since it was only $75 billion. Dear Lord, people are losing their homes!! Their homes!! We have to help them, its a “crisis unlike we’ve ever known.” Honk if I’m paying your mortgage…
…and foreclosures have reached record highs.
What about Cap and Trade? Al Gore flies around the world on his private jet, leaving the lights on at his mansion, telling us the world will end and man will be extinct if something isn’t done right now!! The poor polar bears, the ice…its melting! We’re in the midst of a climate crisis!! Oceans will rise, cities will flood, people will die!!
Meh… ya know, let’s put that one aside for now. Besides, its a jobs killer and it will cost families thousands of dollars a year in energy price increases. Let’s not go there just yet…
I guess the polar bears are fine, the ice isn’t melting anymore, and looky there…global temperatures are dropping?
That whole health care thing? Yeah, people are dying!! We must act now!! There are 47 million Americans, well, 30 million ’cause ya know, there are a lot of illegals, so yeah, 30 million people will die!! The health care system is in a crisis!! Legs are being amputated for tonsillitis!!
Sure, it affects 1/6 of our economy and will allow the government to enter into your personal lives like you’ve never seen. Yeah, we don’t actually have a written bill, trust us. No, really, we’re transparent.
The law doesn’t even take effect until 2013… why all the rush to pass the bill? Perhaps, because the door would be open to all sorts of “patches” before the midterm elections? Lord only knows what those patches might be.
The rush is by design. Afterall, “you never want a serious crisis to go to waste.“ Get it done quickly because once “We the people…” find out what you’re really up to, we are gonna be pissed.
